Today's Parliament Session Did Not Convene

Today’s parliamentary session was not held

Today’s session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly was not held due to the absence of a quorum of representatives

Fallahi, the representative of Hamedan in the parliament, in an interview with Tasnim about the non-holding of today’s public session of the parliament, said that, in any case, some representatives were probably involved in the second round of elections in their constituencies, and perhaps their absence is somewhat justified

He added, however, it was expected from other colleagues to act with more responsibility and come to Tehran to form the parliament. It is our duty and the right of the people to hold parliamentary sessions until the last day of its activity, even if we have not succeeded in re-entering the parliament

This member of parliament, who is himself among those who did not make it to the twelfth parliament, spoke about the reaction of the parliament speaker to the absence of a significant number of representatives in today’s session, saying Mr. Qalibaf announced that the names of the absent representatives in today’s session will be published tomorrow. Moreover, a consultation was held to see if a discussion among the representatives would take place, but this did not pass. In conclusion, it was decided that if tomorrow’s public session is also not held, the present representatives will be informed

Tasnim also wrote in this regard that apparently this morning, a large number of representatives who did not get elected for the next term or were sent to the second round of elections did not attend the public session
