Trump and Putin spoke on the phone
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in continued efforts to end the protracted war resulting from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, made a phone call to Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, on Monday, May 18.
Trump hopes that with a fresh personal effort, he can persuade Putin to agree to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire with Kyiv.

However, the White House warned that Trump has become tired and frustrated with the slow resolution of this crisis.
The Kremlin also described the call between the leaders of Russia and the United States as important.
