The White House: Trump and Putin talked on the phone for over two hours

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in his continued efforts to end the war in Ukraine, has spoken on the phone with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

The White House announced that this conversation, which took place today, Monday, May 19th (29th of Ordibehesht), lasted more than two hours.

Mr. Trump had previously said that in this phone call, they would discuss ending the bloodshed in Ukraine as well as trade.

The President of the United States wrote in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, that he hoped it would be a constructive day and a ceasefire would be achieved, and that this brutal war, a war that should never have happened, would come to an end.
