Trump and the UAE leader discussed Middle East developments
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, had a phone conversation on Thursday about developments in the Middle East and ongoing efforts to manage regional crises.
The UAE’s official news agency reported that the two sides also discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen joint cooperation in line with the interests of both countries.
This call took place a day after Axios reported on a meeting between Steve Witkoff, a White House envoy, and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed, the UAE’s National Security Advisor. According to the report, Witkoff and Tahnoun discussed the next steps in the Iran crisis and the options ahead.
