Trump Calls for Reduction of Military Drills with South Korea Due to Good Relations with Kim Jong Un

Trump, due to his good relationship with Kim Jong Un, called for a reduction in military exercises with South Korea.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that because of his very good relationship with Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, he intends to significantly reduce the level of joint military exercises between the US and South Korea.

Trump described these annual maneuvers as costly on his social media and said he is not satisfied with their conduct. He also announced that he has instructed Pete Hegseth, the US Secretary of Defense, to limit these exercises.

The US President explained his decision by saying that North Korea has not behaved threateningly during his presidency and has acted respectfully.

The joint exercises between the US and South Korea are set to begin on Monday. Seoul has not yet responded to Trump’s statements.
