Trump: Canada has been taking advantage of the US for years

Trump says Canada has been taking advantage of the U.S. for years

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, accused Canada of commercial exploitation of the United States and said that this country will no longer be treated like a state with special privileges in trade and other areas.

Trump claimed that Canada is among the worst countries in the world for interaction and trade, adding that we don’t need Canada; it is Canada that needs us.

He also announced that starting January 1, 2027, the import tariffs on all cars, trucks, auto parts, and steel from Canada will increase to 50 percent.

Trump urged companies to move their production to the United States and said that goods manufactured in the United States will not be subject to these tariffs.
