Trump Does Not Want Lebanon to Be Part of the Agreement with Iran

Trump: I don’t want Lebanon to be part of the deal with Iran

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that he does not wish for the issue of Lebanon to be included in any potential agreement between Washington and Tehran.

In an interview with NBC News, Trump also emphasized that the United States will not implement any reduction or lifting of sanctions against Iran before reaching a final agreement.

He considered maximum pressure on Iran to remain the main policy of his administration and claimed that both sides are close to a final agreement, but negotiations have not yet reached the final stage.

The U.S. President also said he wants to add a clause to the agreement to ensure that Iran will not be able to circumvent the terms of the agreement.

Trump’s statements come as Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that ending conflicts in Lebanon should be part of any regional agreement or ceasefire.
