Trump Doesn't Need to Praise Woke Figures Like Tom Hanks

Trump doesn’t need to celebrate woke figures like Tom Hanks

On Monday, September 7th, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed satisfaction over the cancellation of a ceremony at the West Point Military Academy that was to be held in honor of the renowned Hollywood actor Tom Hanks.

The ceremony was organized by the West Point Alumni Association to award the prestigious Sylvanus Thayer Award to Hanks on September 25th, but according to reports, it was abruptly canceled last weekend without any official explanation.

Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social that our great West Point, which grows greater every day, wisely canceled the award ceremony for Hanks. We don’t need destructive winners with a woke social mindset.

Hanks, who has won several Oscars and acted in films like Saving Private Ryan and the series Band of Brothers, is known for his performances and support for veterans and the U.S. space program.

The Thayer Award is given annually to a distinguished citizen whose life and service exemplify the West Point motto of Duty, Honor, Country.

It is still unclear whether Hanks will receive the award without a ceremony or not.
