Trump: Putin has 50 days to reach an agreement with Ukraine, otherwise we will impose a 100% tariff on Russia.
On Monday, July 14, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced in a joint press conference with the NATO Secretary General that if an agreement to end the war in Ukraine is not reached within the next 50 days, very severe secondary tariffs of about 100% will be imposed on Russia.
He described this action as leverage to pressure Vladimir Putin and expressed disappointment with the slow pace of ceasefire negotiations.
Trump also stated that about $350 billion has been spent to support Ukraine so far, and that this was not his war, but Biden’s war, hoping that such economic pressure could pave the way for a quicker resolution of the conflict.
