Trump: If Lebanese militia attacks continue, we will strike Iran again
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, warned that if Lebanese militia attacks continue, Washington will once again target Iran with military strikes, coinciding with the start of negotiations between Iran and the U.S. in Switzerland.
In a message on the social network Truth Social, Trump called on Tehran to immediately stop the actions of the Lebanese militias and claimed that Iran is responsible for the behavior of the forces it supports in the region.
He wrote that Iran must immediately stop its proxy forces in Lebanon that are causing trouble.
The U.S. President also warned that if they do not do this, we will deliver a very hard blow to Iran once more, just like last week, but this time even more severe.
These statements come as a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese militias has been in effect since Friday, but reports indicate ongoing clashes and reciprocal attacks in southern Lebanon.
Trump’s new threat coincides with ongoing negotiations in Switzerland, discussions that are primarily focused on Iran’s nuclear program, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the ceasefire in Lebanon, and the implementation of the recent memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington.
