Trump: Iran doesn’t have much time
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, highlighted the role of trade and economy in establishing global peace during an interview with Fox News and said he is willing to trade with Iran within the framework of a nuclear agreement.
He noted that Tehran doesn’t have much time left and added that they are not going to obtain nuclear weapons, but if they eventually do, the nature of the discussion will be entirely different.
In 2018, the Trump administration withdrew from the JCPOA nuclear agreement and imposed extensive sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
Nevertheless, Trump has consistently stated that he is willing to renegotiate with Tehran if a better agreement can be reached.
Since Trump has stated in his 2024 election campaign that he seeks to achieve a comprehensive agreement on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear issues, his new comments about the possibility of trading with Tehran in exchange for an agreement reflect a pragmatic approach in his foreign policy.
