Trump: Iran will pay a multiple price for killing any American soldier
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, warned that the Islamic Republic will face a multiple response if any American soldier is killed. He announced that he has communicated this order to Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense, Dan Keane, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other American military commanders.
These statements were made after CENTCOM updated the casualty statistics of American forces in the Middle East war and announced that the number of fatalities has reached 17. This command also stated that an American soldier died on July 27 in northern Iraq during a controlled detonation operation of unexploded munitions belonging to a downed Iranian attack drone, and another soldier was injured in the same incident.
CENTCOM also reported the first American combat casualties in the war with Iran since March a day prior, announcing that two American soldiers were killed during a defensive operation in Jordan, and another soldier went missing. According to this command, this event coincided with escalating conflicts, putting the fragile ceasefire in the region at greater risk.
