Trump: Last night, 29 ships exited the Strait of Hormuz
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that the volume of oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz has increased and stated that last night 29 ships passed through this waterway and exited the Persian Gulf. Trump claimed that the United States now has full control over the Strait of Hormuz and that a large amount of oil is being transported through this route. He had previously mentioned that since the beginning of the war, the U.S. Navy has accompanied the transit of more than a billion barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. However, independent shipping data shows that despite the recent increase in oil exports, the overall traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has not returned to pre-war levels. Trump also claimed that oil prices are now lower than during Joe Biden’s presidency. Nevertheless, the current price of Brent oil is close to $100 per barrel, which is considered higher than the average oil price during most years of Biden’s administration.
