Trump Mistakenly Identified Sexual Assault Accuser’s Photo as His Ex-Wife

It appears that Donald Trump confused a photo of a woman named E. Jean Carroll, who is the accuser in a sexual assault case, with his ex-wife Marla Maples.

In a released video, Mr. Trump’s lawyer shows a photo of him talking with several people, and Mr. Trump’s voice is heard saying, ‘That’s Marla.’

His lawyer says, ‘No, that’s Carroll.’

Ms. Carroll, 79, has accused Mr. Trump, 76, of attacking her in the mid-1990s in a department store in New York City, but Mr. Trump has denied this allegation.

Ms. Carroll’s lawyers have argued that Mr. Trump’s confusion of this woman’s photo with his ex-wife proves his claim is false that Ms. Carroll is not the type of woman he finds attractive, a response Mr. Trump gave when the accusation first surfaced in 2019.

Donald Trump has firmly denied Ms. Carroll’s accusation that he took her to the dressing room of Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan and raped her there.
