Trump was ordered to pay a $5 million fine
A Manhattan federal court jury in New York ordered former U.S. President Donald Trump to pay a $5 million fine due to a conviction in a sexual assault case involving a former fashion magazine writer.
E. Jean Carroll, the plaintiff in this case, claimed that Trump raped her about 20 years ago in a luxury department store dressing room and then defamed her by calling her accusation a lie. After the trial, she called the jury’s verdict a victory for all women.
According to American media, E. Jean Carroll left the court with her lawyer after the jury’s verdict and was met with applause from those present.
