Turkey continues to support Iran-U.S. negotiations
On Thursday, Turkey announced that it will continue to support peace talks between the United States and Iran and urged both parties to take a constructive approach in the dialogue process.
In its weekly meeting, the Turkish Ministry of Defense emphasized that we will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure the current ceasefire leads to a permanent ceasefire and ultimately to lasting peace.
The ministry also expressed hope that the parties will strengthen diplomacy in the ongoing negotiation process.
As a NATO member and a neighbor of Iran, Turkey has been in close contact with Tehran, Washington, and the mediator of the negotiations, Pakistan, in recent weeks and has repeatedly stressed the need to halt the conflicts.
Meanwhile, a Turkish diplomatic source has announced that the foreign ministers of Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt are set to meet on the sidelines of a diplomatic meeting in Antalya at the end of the week.
According to reports, Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, who is on a regional visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, will be present at this meeting.
