Turkey has built another 100 kilometers of border wall with Iran

Turkish media reported on Monday, May 29, that about one hundred more kilometers of concrete wall have been constructed along the country’s borders with Iran.

According to the Hurriyet newspaper, Turkish officials announced that this wall is part of a plan to create a security barrier with Iran, which is expected to extend 560 kilometers.

The construction of the wall is a step to prevent illegal migration and to strengthen the control of the two countries’ borders to combat human trafficking, drug smuggling, and potential arms trafficking.
