Turkey to Establish Office for Protecting Iran's Interests in Albania

Turkey establishes the office for the protection of Iranian interests in Albania

Seven months after the severance of diplomatic relations between Albania and Iran, the Islamic Republic agreed for Turkey to become the protector of Tehran’s interests in Tirana. Last year, in response to Iran’s cyber attacks, Albania expelled all Iranian diplomats from its soil. On Saturday, April 22nd, the Iranian Foreign Minister, in a conversation with his Turkish counterpart, agreed to the establishment of the office for the protection of Iranian interests in Albania by Turkey. Iranian domestic media reported this news, stating that Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in his phone conversation with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, expressed gratitude for the efforts of the Turkish government.
