Turkey Went Nuclear

Turkey becomes nuclear

Simultaneously with the start of the official ceremony for the delivery of the first batch of nuclear fuel to Turkey’s first nuclear power plant by the Russians, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced in a speech at this ceremony via video conference that his country has joined the ranks of countries with nuclear energy in the world, with a 60-year delay.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also participated in the ceremony for the delivery of the first batch of nuclear fuel to Turkey’s Akkuyu power plant via video conference. This power plant was built for Turkey by Russia’s Rosatom company.

In his online speech at this ceremony, Putin said that the Akkuyu nuclear system is one of the most modern and reliable security systems in the world.

Erdoğan continued his remarks on this important day for Turkey, adding that with the delivery of nuclear fuel, the Akkuyu nuclear power plant has achieved the status of a nuclear facility through air and sea routes.
