Twitter’s Golden Checkmark for a Mere $1000 a Month
Businesses that want to keep their golden checkmark will probably soon have to pay Twitter $1000 a month. It is still unclear when this plan will be implemented. However, internal messages from Twitter indicate that the company also wants to charge an additional $50 per month for adding a badge to accounts associated with businesses.
This news aligns with a screenshot shared by social media consultant Matt Navarra on his page. In that screenshot, an email apparently between a Twitter product manager and a business was seen, stating: As a subscriber who gets early access to new features, you will receive a golden checkmark for your organization and a special badge for the individuals associated with it. If you wish to subscribe, the cost of the Verified for Organizations plan is $1000 per month, and an additional $50 per month for each extra account. These badges are free for the first month.
