Two Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli forces
In the latest incident of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces in the West Bank, two Palestinians have been killed.
The Israeli Defense Minister stated that these two individuals fired at Israeli soldiers near the settlement of Elon Moreh east of Nablus and were killed in a return fire by Israeli forces.
Since the Israeli police raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque last week, tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have increased, resulting in casualties on both sides.
By order of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the entry of all Jewish visitors and pilgrims to the mosque compound has been banned until the end of Ramadan.
Part of this compound contains Jewish holy sites.
Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Minister of National Security in the cabinet, has opposed this decision.
During the clashes between Israel and the Palestinians, rockets were fired into Israeli territory from Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip, and Israel responded with airstrikes and artillery targeting areas in southern Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza.
