UAE postponed Netanyahu’s visit fearing a regional crisis
Three senior Israeli officials have stated that the United Arab Emirates postponed a planned visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Abu Dhabi last month due to concerns about the escalation of a regional crisis with Iran.
This was the fifth time in two years that Mr. Netanyahu’s scheduled visit to the UAE has been faced with cancellation or postponement.
These officials added that the ongoing crisis between Israel and the Palestinians, at a time when the UAE has been supporting the Palestinians, has prevented continued coordination between the Israeli Prime Minister’s office and the UAE’s presidency to set a new date for such a visit.
