UAE denies Netanyahu’s secret trip

According to Al Jazeera, the United Arab Emirates denied the claim made by Benjamin Netanyahu’s office about his secret trip to the country during the Iran war.

The official UAE news agency WAM, quoting officials from the country, stated that the relations between Abu Dhabi and Israel are public and within the framework of the Abraham Accords and are not built on secret or hidden arrangements.

The statement said that any claims about unannounced trips or agreements are baseless unless confirmed by UAE officials.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office had claimed a few hours earlier that Netanyahu had made a secret trip to the UAE during the US and Israel’s war with Iran and met with Mohammed bin Zayed.

Al Jazeera says this verbal tension arises at a time when Israeli-UAE security cooperation has increased during the Iran war, and American officials have also reported the transfer of Israel’s Iron Dome system to the UAE.
