UK and US Accuse China of Extensive Cyber Attacks

The UK and the US accused China of extensive cyber attacks

The UK government holds China responsible for a cyber attack that led to the exposure of millions of British citizens’ information. Simultaneously, the US Department of Justice and the FBI announced today that millions of citizens’ accounts were targeted by Chinese hackers.

The cyber attack on the UK’s Electoral Commission occurred in August 2021 but was leaked to the media last year.

It is said that several members of the UK Parliament, who are serious critics of Beijing, were among the targets of these attacks.

In August 2023, the Electoral Commission, confirming these attacks, stated that unknown actors infiltrated the voter registration center for election participation and accessed emails and control systems.
