Britain: Traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has decreased by about 90 percent
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced that the volume of ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is about 90 percent less than the level before the start of the conflicts.
According to this organization, since February 28, only 18 transits heading out of the Persian Gulf and 21 heading into the Persian Gulf have been recorded, which is equivalent to about four percent of the traffic level before the war.
This body also announced that data from the Automatic Identification System (AIS) shows that due to ongoing attacks and security concerns, ships are increasingly using the northern route of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations, the Omani route is the most dangerous passage of the Strait of Hormuz, such that from July 6 to August 6, 14 out of a total of 16 maritime incidents occurred in this route. From the beginning of this year until August 6, a total of 74 incidents have been reported.
