Ukraine’s Official Request to Join NATO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has officially requested the initiation of a special accelerated process for his country’s accession to the NATO alliance.

This request may be seriously welcomed in light of NATO’s recent stance and its Secretary General. The member countries of this alliance are one by one condemning Russia’s actions today. However, Russia also has its own allies within the alliance, namely Turkey and Hungary.
