Ukrainian Foreign Minister Warned Araqchi About Escalating Tensions

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister warned Araqchi about escalating tensions

Andriy Sybiha, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, announced that after Ukraine’s drone attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea, he warned Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi against any escalation of tensions and called for an end to Tehran’s support for Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Sybiha wrote in a message on the social network X that during this call, he emphasized the need to avoid provocative actions and to end Iran’s support for Russia’s war, adding that this war is illegal and must be stopped.

Iran has announced that the targeted ship was a commercial vessel and that one sailor was killed in the attack, while Ukrainian officials claim that the ship was transferring military equipment from Russia to Iran.

Meanwhile, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, called Ukraine’s attack on the Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea an aggressive act and said that the Caspian Sea should remain free from any military incidents and continue to be a region of peace and cooperation.
