The United Nations Human Rights Council will hold a special session on Iran on November 24th.
Today, the United Nations Human Rights Council announced that due to the worsening human rights situation in Iran, it will hold a special session in ten days on November 24th.
The request for this special session was submitted to the council by the representatives of Iceland and Germany on Friday.
To hold a special session, 16 out of the 47 member countries must vote in favor.
As the third month of nationwide protests in Iran approaches, the violent suppression of protesters, unlawful and widespread arrests, and the issuance of death sentences continue to increase, prompting various human rights organizations to issue warnings.
