UN: Israel Uses Waterboarding to Torture Palestinian Prisoners

The United Nations states that Israel uses the method of waterboarding to torture Palestinian prisoners.

The United Nations Human Rights Office reported on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, that thousands of Palestinians have been forcibly removed from the Gaza Strip and their shelters and transferred to Israeli detention centers. According to this report, some of these prisoners have been subjected to torture, and dozens of them have lost their lives.

The 23-page report from the United Nations Human Rights Office, mostly based on interviews with released prisoners and other victims and witnesses, indicates that many of those who were detained in Gaza since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2024, were taken to checkpoints while trying to escape Israeli military attacks. Others were arrested from schools and hospitals where they had taken refuge.
