The UN agency says we only have two years to save the world from greenhouse gases.
The head of the UN’s climate agency stated that humanity has only two years to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to save the world, and even less time to secure the necessary funding for these changes.
Simon Stiell added on Wednesday, April 11, that he is well aware that his warning might seem exaggerated, but he believes that action within the next two years is crucial.
Mr. Stiell, in part of his speech at Chatham House in London, said that we can still overcome greenhouse gases by implementing a new generation of national climate programs, but these more effective programs must be executed now.
He indirectly referred to this year’s elections in many countries around the world, reminding that action on climate change is not solely the responsibility of the powerful.
