U.S. Defense Secretary: Iran and Its Allies Attacked U.S. Positions 83 Times During Biden's Era

The US Secretary of Defense says Iran and its allies have attacked American positions 83 times during Biden’s term

Lloyd Austin, the US Secretary of Defense, states that since the beginning of Joe Biden’s presidency, Iran and its allied militias have attacked American military positions in Iraq and Syria 83 times.

Mr. Austin, speaking in response to a question from Republican Senator Tom Cotton on Tuesday, said that the United States has conducted operations against Iran’s proxy groups in the region four times in response to these attacks.

He made these remarks in the Senate Armed Services Committee.

The American newspaper, The New York Times, reported on Tuesday that American fighter jets were ready on Friday to launch a second round of retaliatory strikes against militias linked to Iran, but the White House decided against it.

Last Thursday, a drone attack in northeast Syria, which the US says was linked to Iran, resulted in the death of an American civilian contractor and injuries to six other Americans.
