US Election Poll Results: Donald Trump Leads Biden by 2%
One day after Trump and Biden’s candidacies in the US presidential election were confirmed, the former president’s two-percent lead over the current president has made headlines. According to a nationwide poll by USA Today and Suffolk University in the US, Trump has managed to secure 40% of the votes, while Biden’s share in this poll is 38%.
In this poll, Biden’s popularity and positive opinions about the US economy under his presidency have increased, and 25% stated that they might change their mind about whom to vote for by the election day on November 15. Twenty-nine percent of the poll participants said they consider inflation and the economy as their main issues, with immigration at 24% and threats to democracy at 23% following as important topics. Ten percent also stated that abortion is their most important issue.
The nationwide poll by USA Today and Suffolk University was conducted from March 8 to 11 (March 18 to 21 in the Iranian calendar) among a thousand people who have registered as voters in the presidential election. The result of this poll, like other polls, indicates a close race between Trump and Biden. On average, nationwide polls show Trump has a 14% advantage.
