The US President: Afghans entered the country without control during the withdrawal from Kabul
Donald Trump, the US President, responded to reporters’ questions after a special Thanksgiving Day television message. In response to a reporter’s question about new changes in the asylum application process for Afghans, Trump recalled that most of these individuals entered US soil in groups and without the usual security procedures during the US forces’ withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Taliban’s capture of Kabul.
He, referring to issues with other refugees including Somali refugees, said many of them are criminals. They boarded planes in groups, practically whoever was stronger got on and came. We had no idea who they were.
Donald Trump has recently ordered a halt to the issuance of permanent residency for asylum seekers and a review of all refugee cases that were granted residency during Joe Biden’s presidency.
