US requests Iran regarding the Yemen crisis: End arms smuggling to the Houthis

Following the agreement between Tehran and Riyadh to resume diplomatic relations after severing ties in 2016, an event which analysts believe could help resolve the Yemen crisis, Timothy Lenderking, the US special envoy to Yemen, said:

If the Iranians want to show that they truly intend to withdraw from this conflict, then there should no longer be any of what is called arms smuggling to the Houthis, an action that violates UN Security Council resolutions.

We also wish to see Iranian support for a political process, which we hope will get underway.
