US Requests Access to Earthquake-Affected Areas in Syria

The US calls for access to earthquake-affected areas in Syria

The United States has joined calls for humanitarian aid workers to be allowed access to areas in Syria under opposition control to assist earthquake victims.

Following the severe earthquake in Turkey and Syria last week, more than 35,000 people have lost their lives in these two countries, with at least 4,300 of these deaths reported in Syria.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has also been asked to grant comprehensive access for the delivery of humanitarian aid.
