US Sanctions Dozens of UAE Company Ships for Transporting Iranian Goods

The US sanctioned dozens of ships of an Emirati company for transporting Iranian goods

On Thursday, the United States imposed new Iran-related sanctions against the shipping company Oceanlink Maritime DMCC and its vessels, highlighting the company’s role in transporting goods for the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The US Department of the Treasury announced that the United States is attempting to isolate Iran using financial sanctions and disrupt the country’s ability to fund proxy groups and support Russia’s war in Ukraine.

The US Department of the Treasury stated that Oceanlink, based in the United Arab Emirates, has a fleet of dozens of ships that are heavily involved in transporting Iranian goods, and 13 of the company’s ships are now under sanctions.

In its statement, the US Department of the Treasury announced that a series of US and Western countries’ sanctions target Iran’s destabilizing activities in the region and around the world.
