The US Secretary of Defense was discharged from the hospital

According to the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, the United States Secretary of Defense, was discharged from the hospital on Monday, January 15th. He will temporarily perform his duties remotely as per doctors’ orders and will return to the Department of Defense full-time afterward.

The Pentagon also announced that Austin’s prostate cancer was treated very early and effectively, and he has no other treatment plans besides regular monitoring following his prostate surgery.

Lloyd Austin also released a statement on the US Department of Defense website saying, ‘I am grateful for the excellent care I received at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and I want to thank the outstanding doctors and nursing staff for their professionalism and exceptional support. As I continue to recover and perform my duties from home, I am eager to fully recover and return to the Pentagon as soon as possible.’
