US Secretary of Defense discharged from hospital

According to the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, the US Secretary of Defense, was discharged from the hospital on Monday, January 25. He will now remotely perform his duties for a while, as instructed by the doctors, and then return to the Department of Defense on a full-time basis.

The Pentagon also announced that Austin’s prostate cancer was treated very early and effectively, and he does not have any other treatment plans apart from regular monitoring after the prostate surgery.

Lloyd Austin also expressed his gratitude for the excellent care he received at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in a statement posted on the US Department of Defense website. He thanked the outstanding physicians and nursing staff for their professionalism and exceptional support. He is now eager to fully recover and return to the Pentagon as soon as possible while continuing his duties from home.
