The US Secretary of State says Russia is helping Iran circumvent sanctions.
During a meeting at the Security Council, the US Secretary of State expressed concern about the cooperation of Iran, North Korea, and China with Russia.
Yesterday, Antony Blinken, during a speech at the UN Security Council meeting regarding the situation in Ukraine, called for the cessation of military cooperation between Iran, North Korea, and China with Russia.
The UKINFORM website reported that Blinken, expressing concern about Russia’s military cooperation with Iran, China, and North Korea, said there are two immediate and related steps we must take. First, we need to address Russia’s growing cooperation with North Korea and Iran.
The US Secretary of State continued by reiterating Western officials’ statements about the delivery of Iranian drones to Russia and the construction of a drone production factory in Russia. He also mentioned that North Korea has supplied Russia with numerous shipments of weapons and ammunition, including rocket launchers and millions of artillery shells.
The US Secretary of State added that the actions of Iran, North Korea, and Russia are in contradiction with several UN Security Council resolutions.
Blinken then stated that the relationship between Russia and Iran, China, and North Korea is not a one-way street, and North Korea and Iran also receive help from Russia to circumvent sanctions and destabilize the region.
