The U.S. Secretary of State is going to China to discuss the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.
Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, will be traveling to China next week for the second time in less than a year. He will be in China from April 24 to 26.
This trip follows a phone call between U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as a recent meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
According to a senior American official, during his upcoming visit to China, Blinken intends to express Washington’s concerns about Beijing’s support for Russia’s arms industry.
The situation in the Middle East will be another key topic that will be discussed during Blinken’s visit to China.
A senior American official said the United States hopes that China will use its relations with the Islamic Republic to encourage Tehran to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions following the recent rise in tensions with Israel.
