Vague Response by Guardian Council Spokesperson on the Arrest of Mirsalim's Son

Ambiguous Response from the Guardian Council Spokesman Regarding the Arrest of Mirsalim’s Son

Hadi Tahan Nazif, the spokesman for the Guardian Council, in response to a question about whether the Council considers security issues for qualification approvals, given the arrest of a parliament member’s son on charges of connections with the Mojahedin, said that the Guardian Council is obliged to inquire from four sources and makes its decisions based on the received reports.

He stated that the reform of the election law is based on the general policies of the elections and said that the reform of the election law has always been our demand. In the Guardian Council, we have no political categorization and consider the presence of all political tendencies within the framework of the law in elections as valuable, and we are very interested in having the upcoming parliamentary elections held under the reformed law.
