Vaheb Motaghi Nia was not appointed as the CEO of the Agricultural Bank.
Following the Iran Gate report about behind-the-scenes negotiations to appoint Vaheb Motaghi Nia, the son of General Hossein Hamedani who was killed in a car accident in Syria, as the CEO of the Agricultural Bank, this appointment did not take place.
A few days ago, efforts were made by the Paydarchi faction and some government officials to oppose Mir Hossein Mousavi’s letter, which had called General Hossein Hamedani a dishonorable general, by attempting to appoint Vaheb Motaghi Nia, the son of Hossein Hamedani, as the CEO of the Agricultural Bank.
This was despite the fact that Motaghi Nia had not followed the proper hierarchy to obtain current managerial positions at the Agricultural Bank and was appointed as the chairman of the board of the Agricultural Bank due to receiving favoritism because of his father’s death in Syria, despite his limited managerial experience.
After the publication of Mir Hossein Mousavi’s letter, many government and military officials visited Hossein Hamedani’s family to express their opposition to the content of the letter, and Zakani, a member of the Paydarchi faction who is the mayor of Tehran, conducted widespread city-level advertising for Hossein Hamedani using the municipal budget.
Many children of officials in the Islamic Republic have managed to secure managerial positions or benefit from economic and security privileges without the necessary expertise and qualifications due to their family’s status.
According to reports, Fereydoun Behbahani, an experienced manager at the Agricultural Bank, has been appointed as the CEO of the Agricultural Bank.
Vaheb Motaghi Nia, the son of General Hamedani, was on the verge of taking the CEO position at the Agricultural Bank. He is the son of General Hossein Hamedani, the former commander of Unit 105 of the Quds Force and the Mohammad Rasoullah Corps in Tehran, who was killed in a car accident while in Syria. Hamedani was his alias.
