Vahid Ashtari’s prison sentence was carried out

According to the announcement on Thursday, June 21, by Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, the case of Vahid Ashtari, an activist from the conservative spectrum of the government, was referred to the prosecutor’s office for the execution of sentences, and he was introduced to prison following the issuance of the court’s final verdict.

The name of Vahid Ashtari Mahini had previously been prominent due to extensive revelations about Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and a current presidential candidate in Iran. Ashtari had published details about the financial corruption of Ghalibaf’s family, including the case known as ‘Sismooni Gate’.
