The Vice President of the Central Bar Association says there is no precise data on the number of lawyers arrested during the protests.
In recent weeks, alongside the new wave of repression following nationwide protests, numerous reports have emerged about the arrest and summons of human rights lawyers in Iran.
Saeed Bagheri, the Vice President of the Central Bar Association, stated that while there is no accurate count of the arrested lawyers, they have heard that a number of their colleagues are detained.
He added that the exact reason for the arrests or the nature of the charges is still unclear to them. This week, the relevant task force is set to investigate the case of Ms. Shima Ghosheh, and if information about others is obtained, it will also be addressed.
Meanwhile, the family of Shima Ghosheh, the detained human rights lawyer, have announced that they are completely unaware of her situation. According to Hrana, Ghosheh was arrested by security forces at her home in Tehran on Friday, January 16, and has only had a brief phone call with her brother.
