Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, says protect Ukraine like Israel.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, called for similar aid to his country after the West intervened in defensive support for Israel during the recent Iranian attack. In his daily video address on Monday evening, April 15 (April 27 in the Iranian calendar), Zelensky said that Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Jordan jointly countered Iran’s missiles and combat drones and did so with maximum effectiveness.
Zelensky added that the world witnessed the actions of our allies in the skies over Israel and neighboring countries, an action that demonstrated how effective one can be in defense against terror when there is a sufficient political will to unite.
Zelensky says Israel is not a NATO member, so there was no need to activate Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which entails a commitment to mutual assistance in the event of a threat against any member, and no country was drawn into war. They only helped to protect human lives.
