Wall Street in Manhattan comes to a standstill with a grand Indian wedding
In one of the most unexpected events of the New York weekend, a grand Indian wedding transformed the famous Wall Street into a lively street festival.
Hundreds of guests in dazzling traditional attire gathered to participate in the Baraat, the traditional pre-wedding parade.
The DJ for the event, who traveled from India to the US for this performance, shared images of the occasion on Instagram.
Varun Navani, the groom of this large wedding, is the CEO of the artificial intelligence company RollAI, and Amanda Sol, the bride, is the chief legal compliance officer.
Though the couple resides in Boston, Massachusetts, they held their four-day, lavish wedding in New York.
The Baraat was part of a four-day celebration that included a Sangeet, elaborate breakfasts, multiple receptions, and two official wedding ceremonies, one Indian and the other Jewish. The wedding took place in luxurious venues such as the Conrad Hotel and Cipriani Hall.
The bride and groom obtained 28 official permits from the city, and according to New York City Hall information, the cost of closing each of these locations ranged from $25,000 to $66,000.
