Warning about rain and flooding in Emamzadeh Davood

Pedram Ghoddjani, head of the Emergency Operations Center of the Tehran City Prevention and Crisis Management Organization, has stated that due to the entry of a rain system from the west into Iran, orange warnings have been issued since the beginning of this week.

He told Fars News Agency that there is likely to be heavy rain in the Solqan, Emamzadeh Davood, and Kan areas, which, like last year, could lead to flooding.

According to him, there is a high chance of heavy rain today and tomorrow, and especially on Thursday, the rainfall in Tehran is expected to be higher. He added that the road from Emamzadeh Davood to Tehran might be closed at the request of the governor’s office.

He also urged citizens to avoid camping near river valleys because of the potential for flooding and advised against hiking during these days.

He warned that due to strong winds in Tehran, there is a possibility of tree branches breaking.

Last year, flooding in Tehran claimed the lives of 53 people, most of whom were in the Emamzadeh Davood area.
