Molavi Abdolghafar Naqshbandi’s Warning Regarding the Siege of Makki Mosque
Molavi Abdolghafar Naqshbandi, the Friday prayer leader of Rask in Sistan and Baluchestan province and one of the Sunni scholars in Iran, warned the officials of the Islamic Republic in response to what was described as the siege of Makki Mosque in Zahedan.
In a statement released by his office, it is stated: We warn the authorities that if the siege of Makki Mosque, the beating heart of Iran’s Sunnis, continues and citizens and worshippers are suppressed, they should expect a historic fatwa.
Reports from Zahedan since this morning have indicated that Makki Mosque in this city has been surrounded by officers, and many have been arrested. The live broadcast of Molavi Abdolhamid’s speech has been cut, and it is unclear what the situation inside Makki Mosque is.
