Warning from the Council of Teachers’ Union Associations

The Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Union Associations of Iran, expressing solidarity with the families and those affected by the protests, has issued a statement emphasizing four demands. The first clause of this statement asserts that teachers reserve the right to protest against the declared poverty line, severe inflation, and the lack of implementation of pensioners’ salary equalization.

This statement, published on the aforementioned council’s Telegram channel, reminds of the opposition to depriving union activists of ranking benefits, imprisonment, dismissal, suspension, exile, and fabricating cases against them. In the fourth clause, it warns the authorities that if their minimal demands are not met, the teachers will take to the streets and prepare themselves for May 2023.
