Warning of Medicine Shortage in the Coming Months
Homayoun Sameh, a member of the Parliament’s Health Commission, warned about a medicine shortage in the coming months and stated that the necessary budget for procuring medicine and medical equipment is 150 trillion tomans, but the budget allocated by the government for medicine is not more than half of this amount.
On Monday, April 24, in an interview with ILNA news agency, this parliament member criticized the decisions made by the Cabinet and the Planning and Budget Organization in drafting the budget and added that our prediction is that in the coming months, not only the issue of medicine but also the problems with medical equipment will increase significantly.
This contradicts the claim of the Minister of Health, who recently said that we will have no concerns in this area this year.
Bahram Einollahi, the Minister of Health, claimed on April 18 that fortunately, with the agreement made with the Planning and Budget Organization, one and a half billion dollars of preferential currency has been approved for the field of medical equipment and expensive medicines, and we will have no concerns in this area this year.
